How to: Edit the Registry.
Solution:
Edit the registry using the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
NOTE: Always make a backup copy of the Registry files BEFORE editing them.
CAUTION: Editing the Registry incorrectly can cause serious problems that could require Windows 95 to be reinstalled.
1) Use one of the following methods to start the Registry Editor:

2) Click the plus sign to the left of HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
3) Click the plus sign to the left of 'Control Panel', and click the plus sign to the left of 'desktop'.
4) Select the 'WindowMetrics' folder.
NOTE: The right pane is now filled with constant names (Names) and values (Data).
5) Right-click in an open area of the right pane of the 'Registry Editor' window. (A 'New' button appears.)
NOTE: DO NOT click on a constant name or value.
6) Click the 'New' button. (The 'New' menu appears.)

7) You can create a 'Key', a 'String Value', a 'Binary Value', or a 'DWORD' value.
NOTE: The key or constants will be attached to the Window Metrics key.
8) Right-click next to the 'Desktop' key in the left pane of the 'Registry Editor' window. (A pop-up menu appears from which you can rename the constant, change its value, or delete the constant and its value.)

NOTE: Do not delete or rename a key unless you know exactly what you are doing. Adding a new key or value to the Registry may change the way Windows 95 operates.
9) Right-click a constant in the 'Name' column in the right pane of the 'Registry Editor' window. (A pop-up menu appears from which you can rename the constant, change its value, or delete the constant and its value.)
NOTE 1:The 'Edit' menu on the 'Registry Editor' window provides essentially the same choices to those found on the pop-up menu that appears when you right-click the mouse.
NOTE 2: The 'Edit' menu changes depending on whether you have selected a key or a constant. A value (data) cannot be selected.
